The Congress Reel is one of my favourites.  I first came across it on the fantastic Hidden Ground album by Paddy Glackin and Jolyon Jackson and it’s been a staple tune for me since then.

Each book contains 40 traditional reels in standard and abc notation.  The main point of interest is that all the bowing information is given.  This is what brings reels to life – giving them energy and bounce.
